Hello, and a happy happy spring day to you! Today is a momentous day. On this very day in 1986, the world was blessed with my birth. (Isn't that subjective?!) That's right-today is my birthday!
Instead of doing what I wanted to do- impromptu dance party in the shop- we are furiously cutting and prepping for Quilt Market.
Tell us about Quilt Market Jess, what's it like?
Quilt Market is like prom, on steroids.
I've never seen so many quilters in one area at one time. It's really the most magnificent thing! Many generations of women clustering about, chattering and delighting over all of the new textiles and fabric. I enjoy the fellowship aspect of the Market show just as much as the visual delights.
I am pleased to invite you to our Post Market Preview Soiree on Saturday, June 16th. The event will be from 7-10pm here at the store. The store is located at 10435 Burnet Road, Suite 106, here in Austin. This is going to be a swanky event! We'll let our hair down, pop some champagne bottles, and get buzzed on new fabric!! We have some really fun activities in store for you, including a delicious SURPRISE raffle! I don't want to give away too much information just yet, since I have so much fun stuff to tell you, so you'll just have to wait till next week for all the hype. Needless to say, it's going to be a blast! Tickets to the event are $5, you can purchase them here in the store starting Tuesday, May 21 and until June 15. Tickets at the door are $10. I really hope y'all can make it out to see our new goodies.
Once again, Mom is packing up her entire car and driving across the country. I used to really worry about her, and now I think it's super cool of her. Independent woman, she is!
My husband Mike has gotten in on the act as well, and is faithfully folding and tagging all of our fabric. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
I gotta get back to cutting, folding, and packing. Look for my Mom's booth! #1140! We will be there all weekend. We're on the end of an aisle. You will probably be able to hear me before you can see me. HA! (I'm a bit loud, if you couldn't tell already!)
Maybe if I get done folding all of this fabric, Mike will take me out for a Mexican Martini. Mmmmm....
Champagne wishes, caviar dreams, and a happy birthday day to all of you!
xoxoxo
Jess
PS I will say hi to Amy, David, Kaffe, Brandon, Tula, Anna Maria, Laura, Heather, Jane, Jay, Tina, and Valori for you! : D
