When one is a fabric freakazoid such as myself, one of the most exciting parts of owning a quilt shop is the opportunity to meet leaders within our community. I enjoy learning from great artists and designers.
One of my favorite people is
Malka Dubrawsky. Malka is a renowned fiber artist that specializes in dyeing and manipulating fabric to create simplistic yet exciting prints. She has written an awesome book called
Fresh Quilting: Fearless Color, Design and Inspiration that is a great guide for using colors, prints and overall design concepts.
Malka has agreed to teach a class for us using one of her new brand new PDF downloadable patterns.
She is debuting a pattern called Pieces of Eight on Saturday, October 13th from 1-4 PM here at Remnants. It has never been taught before-how cool would it be to be a part of her first class?
If you would like to sign up for this class, the cost is $65 and you can call 888-TO-QUILT or 512-821-1511 and reserve your seat or email remnantsfiberculture@gmail.com to secure your spot. Remember, Saturday, October 13th---it's coming up quick, and there are only 5 slots left!
This is going to be a total blast and I can't wait to learn some of Malka's rocking technique!
